Here is a little Info About Us

Vicki, Maureen and Nicola

The main thing about us is that we are a family owned and operated, small but growing company located in Ottawa, Canada.

It all started with a beaded spider.

After making and selling thousands of little Christmas tree spiders at craft fairs and the Carp Farmers Market, it was time for us to get into beading in a bigger way.We have 3 employees, Vicki, Maureen and Nicola, and some wonderful teachers that keep the creative ideas coming and smiles on every ones faces.

Vicki Green is owner and creative genius behind Dragon’s Lair Beads. She has created many stunning original jewelry pieces often using 100,s too 1000,s of Swarovski crystals. She teaches classes in a fun and friendly manner and inspires people to be creative. Her hobbies are not just beading, she is also a fan of chain mail and she does beautiful Cross Stitch. Her favorite thing outside of beading is Walt Disney World.

Maureen Green, owner, Mom, runs the show with Vicki and is also very artistic her hobbies are bead point, tapestry and of course cruising with our dad, Norman. Vicki and Maureen went through a few versions of craft businesses before falling in love with beading. She is the person who weighs bags and strings all those thousands of beads, not a chance we are going to let her retire any time soon.

Nicola Shute owner, daughter of Maureen and Norman and sister of Vicki, has just started into the day to day store operations. After leaving High Tech to be a stay at home mom to 4 children for the last 11 years doing the books in the background just was not fun enough. After going back to school to learn about creating an on-line business she is now putting those new skills to the test with the creation of this web site. Feed back is always welcome. It also gives her an excuse to be able to play more with beads. Thanks Steve for encouraging me in this new endeavor.

Norman Green is our husband, father and unsung hero, without his building skills it would be much harder to evolve the store and displays that we have now. Fortunately for us one of his hobbies is woodworking but his number one hobby is cruising with Mom.

This is Charlie.
He is the happy dragon of Dragon's lair Beads a mascot you might say. Charlie has lots of dragon buddies in the store thanks to many of our friends. You may see him around.
